| Mapping the flows is one way to explain the changes in society. We emphasize the cultural importance of movement and flows and the existence of networks. By mapping the movements and the different meanings of place(s) at the same time, we both analyse the 'currents' and explore the best way to visualize non-geographical information. Our pilot-project is the big KAN-atlas, an atlas of the region Arnhem-Nijmegen concerning the cultural and mental mapping of the region itself and the region in its global context. The atlas is a supplement to the regional vision KAN, and the 133 maps give extra information concerning the themes of the vision: culture, relaxation, water, farming, home, work and mobility. Unfortunately, the atlas is sold out, but downloadable in the lower right corner.
